Children's Church

Children's Church is a worship and instruction opportunity for the children of St. Michael's Parish. They learn, play, and celebrate God's grace during the Liturgy of the Word and come to the nave for Holy Communion. Children from infants to 4th grade are welcome, but not required, to come to Children's Church!

Church School Classes
Christian Education classes are offered for Primary, Intermediate, Youth, and Adults during the regular academic year. Occasionally intergenerational classes are held and include plays in Johnston Hall staged by the Children of St. Michael's. Sunday School is from 11:20 until noon, and is announced with the ringing of a bell. 

Other Educational Opportunities

The Episcopal Diocese of Alabama and many church groups host many educational events within easy driving distance from Fayette.   These are usually held at Camp McDowell, at the Cathedral, or at one of the parish churches in Birmingham.  Check the Calendar regularly for a listing of upcoming educational opportunities.  The Episcopal Book Store in Birmingham is an important source of materials for anyone who wishes to explore the Christian faith in depth.

Inquirers' or Confirmation Classes

These classes are typically held during the 4-5 weeks prior to the Bishop's annual visitation, which usually occurs in February. Inquirers classes are open to all visitors and parishioners and provide instruction and discussion in the areas of Scripture, Theology, Tradition, and Liturgics in preparation for Confirmation, Reception, or the Reaffirmation of Baptismal Vows. Please let the rector know if you are interested in Inquirers' Classes.  

Episcopal Youth Community
The Episcopal Youth Community (EYC) is open to all young people in grades 6-12. EYC gathers at various times during the academic year and has special events such as an a road trip to Episcopal Day, lock-ins, and mission and outreach activities.
