Pastoral Care
Pastoral care at St. Michael's includes welcoming newcomers, visiting the sick and shut-ins, and providing care, counsel and referral services to those in need. Pastoral care is the ministry of all communicants of the parish, but especially that of the rector, who is always available for pastoral emergencies.  The voice mail at the parish office is checked regularly if no one is available, and the rector may be reached at home, 205-553-5009.  

The Senior Care Resource Center
Information about a wide variety of issues facing senior citizens and their families is available from The Senior Care Resource Center, at St. Martin's-in-the-Pines, Birmingham.  The Center can be reached at 205-314-4200, or toll-free at 877-314-7373.  The Center can help in such areas as senior health, communithy resources, care management, Medicare, and information and referral.  Initial funding for the Center was provided to the Diocese of Alabama by a grant from the United Thank Offering.   

Shepherd Groups
Ministry at St. Michael's also includes our Shepherd Groups, used to inform members of the parish of special activities, events, or circumstances that are not published in the weekly bulletin or The Messenger, our monthly newsletter. The chairperson of each Shepherd Group is responsible for calling the other members of the Group.  To activate the Shepherd Groups, call Cathy Robertson at 205-932-8497. She will notify the group leaders.  If Cathy is not available, call Fran Lowe at 205-932-5022.
